About Us
The Element New Plays Festival was founded by Taylor Bibat and Alexis Randolph, two alumnae of the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, to bring artists together to work collaboratively on new plays within a short, intense period. Element 2008 featured works by 10 young playwrights affiliated with the NTI program, but rapidly grew beyond those boundaries, as we found many talented actors, directors, and others to assist us in putting up those first staged readings. This year, we are interested in working with theatermakers of any or no affiliation, while keeping the same spirit of hard work and community we learned at NTI.
